just teasin'

I know you probably can't tell what this is fully but I promise it'll be great. There's a piece I've been wanting to develop for a while now -- started a pattern about a year ago and shoved it into a box while I was moving (you know how that goes). I recognized that every ten designs I'm almost repeating the same sketch of this design, so, I decided it was time to bring it to life! Come to Chillin' Productions for it's debut!

flesh. web photos

Hi world! I'm back!! I'm finally releasing some teasers for my website. These photos were taken by me for the launch of the flesh. website. Hopefully it won't take me as long to get that out as it did to release these photos. Thank you so much to my muse Sonia who was so easy to work with even through extreme hiking and weather conditions...and Sarah who was able to help me out with hair styling at the last minute while catering to my crazy schedule, you ladies are amazing!!

eres

Eres is a 43 year old company specializing in swimwear and lingerie. Their reach into lingerie design in 1998, only proved that they were experts in the architecture of the body. Some of the pieces that speaks to my style are in the following images pulled from the official site. They're so lovely!!

nichole de carle

Nichole de Carle is amazing! I just learned of her through the Bleach Black blog. She specializes in fit and has worked as a tailor for labels such as Alexander McQueen, Donna Karan and Pleasure State. I love the strappy architectural lines created around the body.

rustic rust lace, dark silky charmeuse and pixie peter pan collars

I've been wanting to take some process photos of this one. I had a sketch of this set sitting around for months. Finally I had a chance to finish it. The rust colored lace is unique in that it's more soft to the touch compared to your typical lace. The peter pan collar creates a deep neckline at the center front and is made of black silk charmeuse. Trimmed in black scalloped elastic, the silhouette is a trapeze shape with a hook-n-eye closure at the collar. The bikini bottom is made of this rust colored lace and black silk charmeuse. I should have these available by Valentine's Day 2011!!! hopefully on my new online shop.....!!

re: http://jodysiu.blogspot.com/2010/06/flesh.html

In a recent post I had jumped the gun and shared a piece that I was working on (a new item to the flesh. collection). Well I just finished yesterday and I'm quite pleased with the results. The godets I added in chiffon gave just the right amount of flare at the hem of the cape. I believe it also helped give more weight to the skirt of the cape so that it actually stays on your shoulders better.  For the fashion fabric I used a dark pinkish mauvey colored velvet with a black speckled print, the lining is made of silk charmeuse. See it touch it feel it try it only at Wonderland SF!

flesh.

Currently I'm working on more items for flesh. but I'm finding frustration at every level...I've come to terms with the fact that I will never be 100% satisfied with my work. Here is a cape I've been sketching over and over again. I finally found that "perfect"  fabric for it so my vision of this is...well...perfect. I started off drafting a very basic cape pattern with a flat peter-pan-esque collar, adding a little more fullness from the shoulder down. After sewing in muslin I was going from feeling it didn't have the kind of drape I was going for to wanting to incorporate a sheer fabric. So from there I decided to add a few godets of chiffon, thus taking care of both issues I had. I got antsy....here's what I have so far...is less really more? Or is more alright too?

bustier finished!

So aside from all my other ongoing projects (ie. flesh., fashion show, pattern drafting class, and photo shoots (I'll have photos upload on those as soon as I get access to a cd drive)) I've also been working on a bustier. I was absolutely in love with my fabric finds so it took me a while on this one. After mulling over every detail I finally have it done! I wanted this to be so much more interesting in terms of the cut but I think what I gained from this was an excellent fit...can't complain. Well time to eat! ;P
