Remember to save your pennies! One of my biggest fears is, one day, being ready to put my collection into production and not have the funds to do so. Although I get the occasional words of encouragement, that money should not keep you from designing, I can't help but worry. Not only is production costly, I imagine marketing can be as well. Trade shows, which I have mixed feelings about, would fall under this expense. Here's an interesting article I read on Fashionista.com about the Oak buyers.
