bhldn

I am continually amazed at how Urban Outfitters, Inc is able to reach an all-encompassing market. Hard to imagine how the founder (and his wife/partner at the time) started from nothing in the 70's. From the hippy gardener to the dirtiest of hipsters to the rich housewives of the Mid-West, it's no wonder they would branch off to create a bridal based brand, known as BHLDN. Anyhow, the concept isn't totally new (launched in February of this year), I just now had time to "ooh and ahh" about it. Everything is very pretty...EVERYTHING! Here are a few pieces I thought were interesting.

(Oh and this was neat too =D)

mndr

I've probably had this on repeat enough that it's bordering an obsession with MNDR. I'm not going to give a very detailed analysis of what I think of her music because, well, I'm not a music critic. I will, however, leave you with these descriptive words that perpetuates my girl crush on her: real, nerdy, ambitious, style, voice type, and teethy. Also, I really respect her point of view as an artist.

where the sun don't shine...

<------Begin Note------>
I'm not sure why this was never posted. This post was drafted in May and I think at the time I felt like the content had been reposted quite a bit already. Well, regardless I think this still serves as inspiration for me.
<-------End Note------->
Some time in May 2011....
Lately I feel as though life, as my stimulant, has been in a gray area, an adjusting period, cloudy, settling, neutral....you get it right?! Needless to say... there hasn't been anything to spark my interest in fashion, designing, inventing, etc. Not until today that is...when I surfed upon Fleet Ilya, which reveals the super sexy creations of Ilya Fleet and Resha Sharma. Ilya Fleet being the trained saddle maker has mastered the art and craft of building 3D forms with leather. Along with his wife Resha, having a background in fashion, the duo does some highly sophisticated leather work. Check out an interview with the two on Highsnobette.

Yes y'all it's a leather dog mask!

Aaaand they've designed some ridiculously gorgeous statement accessories!

What's also interesting is that their S/S 11 colors really break up the edge of the pieces...neat twist!
